Join the Squirrels for adventure, friendship, and important life skills!
Squirrels is the youngest section in Scouts for children aged 4–6 years old. At 34th Chesterfield, our Squirrels enjoy making friends, learning new skills, exploring the world around them and having lots of fun along the way! Through games, crafts, stories, challenges and adventures, we help children build confidence, kindness and independence in a safe and supportive environment.

That’s completely normal! Starting something new can feel big at this age. Our leaders work hard to make sessions friendly and welcoming. Children are never forced to join in straight away and can settle at their own pace.
Usually Squirrels attend independently, but we understand some children may need a little support when settling in. Speak to the leaders if you have any worries.
We also occasionally ask for parent helpers at sessions and events.

We want Squirrels to be welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Please talk to us about anything that may help us support your child to have the best possible experience.
Squirrels earn badges by taking part in activities, learning new skills and trying their best. Badges are added to their uniform to celebrate their achievements.
Please contact us to ask about spaces or joining the waiting list. We’re always happy to answer questions!
