2016 is Cubs 100th birthday! That’s 100 years of fun, 100 years of adventure and 100 years of trying something new and to celebrate, the Cub Pack have the opportunity to take part in lots of adventures throughout 2016.

Cub Summer 2015 Programme

This term, Cubs will be working on: Our Outdoors Challenge Award, Map Reader Badge, Cyclist Badge

Friday 17th April – Fire

Cubs will be practising Fire Lighting skills and learning about fire safety

Friday 24th April – Canoeing

Cubs will be canoeing at Walton Dam

Sunday 26th April – St George’s Day

Cubs will be joining the Group to take part in the District St George’s Day Parade

Friday 1st May – Map & Compass Training

Cubs will be completing the first half of their Map Reader Badge

Friday 8th May – Map & Compass Challenges

Cubs will be completing the second half of their Map Reader Badge

Friday 15th May – Hike

Cubs will be completing a short hike, starting and ending at the Church Hall 

Friday 22nd May – Camp Skills

Cubs will be learning how to tie a bedding roll and pitching & striking tents

Friday 29th May – Half Term

No Cub Meeting

Friday 5th June – Outdoor Cooking

Cubs will be cooking a main meal and a dessert on a campfire

Friday 12th June – Spite Winter

Cubs will be taking part in activities at Spite Winter Camp Site – some Cubs may be staying after the meeting to take part in our family camp

12th-14th June – Family Camp

Cubs and their families are invited to join the Group at their first Family Camp

Sunday 14th June – Church Parade Service

We will be joining the rest of the Group to take part in Church Parade at St Michael and All Angels Church

Friday 19th June – Cycle Proficiency

Cubs will be completing the first part of their Cyclist Badge

Friday 26th June – Bike Ride

Cubs will be taking part in a bike ride in order to complete the Cyclist Badge.  Cubs will need to bring their own bikes, please speak to Akela if your child does not own a bike and would like to take part.

Friday 3rd July – Climbing

Cubs will have a go at Climbing – Climbing Wall will be at the Church Hall

Friday 10th July – Pioneering & Water Fight

Cubs will be having a go at building a trebuchet out of canes and bands capable of firing water balloons

Friday 17th July – Group Celebration Night

The Cubs will be joining with the rest of the Group for an evening of Awards, Activities and a BBQ
