Cubs & Scouts should arrive at 7pm ready for a 7.15pm start.  The Cub & Scout session will end at 8.15pm.

Directions

From Chesterfield Town Centre, head towards Peak District up Chatsworth Road (Brampton Mile).  At Morrison’s supermarket, turn left onto Walton Road.  Go straight over next mini roundabout and after 150 yards and just prior to pedestrian crossing, turn right through a pair of metal gates next to a derelict building into the Walton Dam access road.  Then bear left up the track, up a hill, and pass through metal galvanised gates, at which point you will see the dam and the canoes a few hundred yards on the right.

Participants will need 2 or 3 thin layers of clothing: underwear or swimwear, tracksuit bottoms or similar, light water shoes or trainers, thin waterproof jacket & overtrousers.

Also a full set of clothing to change into after canoeing is finished, warm coat, hat and gloves.

Two Towels (one to dry with and one to wrap around you whilst changing).

Warm drinks & snacks for afterwards

Any medication or inhalers required during the session.

NO JEANS, HEAVY BOOTS OR THICK COATS ON THE WATER.
